Gerold, 85, of Sandusky, passed away peacefully early Friday afternoon, March 16, 2018, surrounded by her family in Firelands Regional Medical Center.Born May 13, 1932, in Bucyrus, Ohio, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Melilli) Invacato. She was 1950 graduate of Bucyrus High School.Rosemary had worked at the Venice Heights Elementary School, in the cafeteria, for 20 years, retiring in 2000. Over the years, she enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling with her husband, cross stitching, quilting, cooking and baking for her family. She especially loved it when she would run into the kids from the school where she had cooked, and reminisce about those good days and how they had grown up.Rosemary was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church where she had been active on the bereavement committee, and a member of the Sandusky Bay Quilting Club.She was a wonderful wife to her husband of 62 years, Larry J. Gerold Sr., whom she married Oct. 15, 1955; mother of three children, Barb Beierlein of Largo, Fla., Larry J. (Ginny) Gerold Jr. of Sandusky, and Teri Butler of Sandusky; grandmother of eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Robert "Joey,” Ryan, Nick, Josh, Mason, Meaghan and Jerrid; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Bush of Bucyrus; brother, Samuel Invacato of Glendale, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents.Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 23, at David F. Koch Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:40 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
